This is one bill to harass every citizen of this country... I have been silent to all issues concerning airsoft all throughout the years since dotcom has been online. But this bill is the mother of all Bullshit and I can no longer go silent on this one

This is just a part of a malicious plan of introducing new laws that may well in fact put our country in a "Garrison/Police State" or a good term for it, a "de Facto Martial Rule". This law will be used to harass political rivals of the present administration who may or willfully carry firearm, or their bodyguards w/ corresponding documents then subjecting all documents for cancellation without due notice, then subjecting these group of individuals involve for violation thereof

This is a prelude to what I foresee as a primordial plan to avert any mass actions that may follow after an initial attempt to change or amend the 1987 Constitution.

This will definitely circumvent our prized DEMOCRACY, the very basic principle we stood for in the 1986 People Power revolution (I was there at EDSA... 1st year HS ako nun)

Sir Ticky we still have the 1987 Constitution to protect us... Let's question the Constitutionality of this proposed bill

The crime of illegal possession of firearms shall now be considered as a SEPARATE AND DISTINCT penalty if any other crime is commmitted in the same act. So you could be charged TWICE for the same act and be slapped with TWO PENALTIES.

Sir Ticky not familiar with this I'm not a lawyer but I surely know Article III Section 21 of the Constitution w/c states that... "No person shall be twice put in jeopardy of punishment for the same offense. If an act is punished by a law and an ordinance, conviction or acquittal under either shall constitute a bar to another prosecution for the same act."

Thank you all for your concern and support.

Right now what we need is to make as much noise as possible. PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE ORIGINAL POST IN THIS THREAD ON ALL OTHER FORUMS, FACEBOOK, FRIENDSTER, MULTIPLY, TWITTER, BLOGS, ETC. IN THE INTERNET AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT IT. THE MORE PEOPLE WE HAVE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING IN CONGRESS, THE MORE CHANCES WE HAVE OF FIGHTING THIS BILL.

For now we have the following plan of action:

1. Tomorrow, some of our friends and some people from AFAD will be assisting in the technical working group of the congress to "streamline" the bill. They have been instructed to make gulo and delay as much as possible.

We are also meeting with some pro-airsoft, pro-gun congressmen tomorrow night in a meeting sponsored by PROGUN and the Firearms Manufacturers Association of the Philipines (FAMAP) to discuss this issue and what steps to take next.

2.  We have PROGUN people and airsoft people in the senate. Please make known that we oppose this Bill. We will be coming there shortly to campaign against this Bill. Today, Senate President Enrile said in a privilege speech that "the government, instead of passing new laws on firearms, should start first with proper enforcement of its existing laws."

Everyone can help in his/her own way. With the upcoming next year, if we could delay this bill till December, then we stand a good chance that it would not be passed since all the politicians will be busy already campaigning for 2010.

But Right now let' s make as much noise as we can and say:

NO TO HOUSE BILL NO : 6658!!!

This is in fact one of our OBJECTIONS that we raised in our position paper (I will post it). But these IDIOTS didn't even read it, or the Bill that they approved! They all looked so bored and stared blankly not knowing what they were voting on. Some even came in late (mukhang bagong gising) dressed in casual attire and simply cast their votes. If you had heard their comments, you would have been very disapointed. They were all irrelevant and had nothing to do with the bill. Obviously, hindi nagbabasa ng Bill.

So now you know the quality of lawmakers we have in this country - and how our laws are passed. If you see them on TV and think they're all a bunch of morons, it's true they are. Imagine your dumbest maid or driver and put him in charge of running this meeting. That's how it was.  Angry

That congressman is just an inept and ignorant buffon. Honestly, I'm infuriated about this bill.

1. Airsoft guns and all gas, spring operated pistols and rifles are now classified as TRUE FIREARMS, requiring licensing and Permit to carry just like regular firearms!

HOW STUPID CAN THEY GET? I MEAN, WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WAS THAT?! CAN A 6MM BB KILL? IF THAT'S WHAT THAT IDIOT'S POINT IS,  PERHAPS THE AFP AND PNP SHOULD USE AEG'S AGAINST THE ENEMIES OF THE STATE head butt

Congressman Chairman Rodolfo W. Antonino is an epic failure.  Together with his fellow idiot congressmen and that little devil who had the nerves to tell bold faced lies to us all.

Yes, delaying tactics is one good move. If we can hold 'em off with delaying tactics until the last few months before the 2010 presidential elections, we'll have a strong chance to suppress it and make that bill and that congressman nothing more but a failure.
